Ok, so I know I am going a little crazy with these blog posts, however, I needed to include a post with Kryssy and Kiera together (and I even snuck a photo of their adorable mom). This family made my heart melt. I feel that their interaction throughout the entire shoot really helped me capture amazing moments. The best part about it all was I could tell it was genuine love between the three of them!

Kiera is Kryssy’s younger sister, who also came along for the portrait session. The moment I saw her I thought she looked like an ad for Target’s Converse All Stars brand. It was great interacting with her and taking photos. She had a quiet demeanor about her, but then all of a sudden she would break out into something completely hilarious while I was taking photos. I have a feeling she isn’t quiet when she’s around people that know her very well.

Last week on a humid, sunny day I ventured out to downtown Ferndale to take photos of Kryssy. We have known one another for many years now through reading each other’s blogs, and it was so surreal to finally meet her! We hit it off immediately and it was such a pleasure to be around her and her family (pictures from the other half of the session to come next!). She hired Blue Shutter for some head shots, but of course I couldn’t JUST take head shots, and we got to play around too. Kryssy is getting a degree in Performing Arts-Musical Theatre, and after spending some time with her I have a feeling she is going to go very far in her career.

Brianna contacted me a couple weeks ago asking for some portraits. She is a friend of Andy’s and I was so excited to be able to spend time with her, meet her awesome boyfriend and see the house that they recently bought together. Let me tell you, these two know how to decorate. I’m sick with jealousy over their house and how lovely it looks inside! We took the majority of photos in downtown Berkley, and mainly focused on Brianna but also got a couple shots of Kevin and their cute little doggie. I love photo sessions, but I have to say that this session FLEW by, maybe because we were having so much fun. Hope you enjoy the photos Brianna! You look gorgeous in them!

I love collaborations. I love collaborations especially with solo sessions. Right before I do a photo shoot with a solo session there is a feeling anxiety and excitement that overcomes me. Those of you who are photographers can probably relate. Solo sessions are more challenging, yet they usually end up being some of my favorite portraits. Meredith’s portraits are definitely some of my favorite. I hope that she walks away from these photos feeling beautiful, vibrant and happy because that’s what she brought yesterday. We had a great time at Town Center in Virginia Beach, and she had so many amazing suggestions that it felt effortless on my end. It was really hard to pick, but here are some of the best.

Trista asked Blue Shutter to take some head shots for her. She has just passed her real estate licensing exam and will soon be selling Real Estate! Yeah!!! So if you need to buy or sell a house give her a ring! :)

The Kriers have awesome animals.

Trista and Garrett are friends of ours that we met at Symphonic back in October. It wasn’t until January that we began hanging out, and I gotta say they kind of make to me laugh so much that it’s to the point of tears sometimes. This is a compliment! They are very generous friends too. Any time we have a people over they are always the couple to bring extra wine, dessert and finger food. We had a blast today shooting their photos (despite it being so incredibly hot out)! We hope you enjoy them!

As Andrew and I prepare for his deployment (that’s right readers, Andrew is deploying soon!), I think about our friends Bryn and Brian and how it feels just like yesterday that Brian was getting ready for his deployment. We took pics for them last fall as a way to celebrate their one year anniversary (and they were taken only a few weeks before he left). I am happy to say that Brian is soon returning and I am so excited and happy for my friend Bryn. I wanted to post these photos as a way to show Bryn that, hey girl, you did it! You made it, and you’re almost at the finish line! :)

This was Blue Shutter’s first ever Wear the Dress session. If you remember Kristen and Tyler were married back in December and I took some pre-wedding photos of Kristen getting ready. I have to say that Kristen looked just as radiant last weekend as she did on her wedding day. How do you pull that off?! They chose a great location for photos: Regent University. The weather was perfect and as I was scanning the area for cool photo spots I saw this beautiful pink tree in full bloom. I nearly died, and was so excited!
Here are some of the shots from the day. I believe Andrew will be posting later this week as well.
